We recently engaged Dr Madeline Wishart to deliver a series of five workshops for around 200 Mental Health Practitioners (MHPs) working across South West schools, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Madeline was engaging, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable. Her enthusiastic delivery style really resonated with MHPs: she has a strong ability to bring theory to life and make it feel practical and directly applicable to the day-to-day work and challenges we're supporting students with.

BAV: The Body as a Voice, where it began

Why "Psych Voice"?

Psych Voice began as The Body as a Voice, my work with young people who self-injure. They often struggle to put their distress into words, so the body becomes the voice. Understanding that is the first step to responding with compassion.

Psych Voice grew from there. It's about helping people find their voice: words for their distress, AND the agency, autonomy and assertiveness to speak up, set boundaries and make their own choices.

Every voice matters: giving voice to what's hard to say.
