The Practice Space

Individual supervision

One-on-one supervision tailored to your caseload, your goals and your stage of career.

Group supervision

Small-group supervision with case discussion, shared learning and peer support.

Working with self-injury

Theoretical understanding, psychoeducation, formulation, management and treatment in schools, organisations and individual therapy, responding with compassion, and managing your own reactions.

BPD and complex emotional presentations

Making sense of intense emotions and long-standing patterns of distress through a compassionate, strengths-based lens. Understanding the protective function of behaviours others have found challenging, and gently interrupting repeating relational patterns, with care for your client and for you.

AREAS OF FOCUS

My supervision draws on direct therapeutic experience across education, community, private and psychiatric settings, as a youth, school and trauma counsellor and as a clinical psychologist, alongside research, university teaching and more than two decades of training practitioners in NSSI and distress tolerance. I support practitioners working with clients from adolescence across the lifespan.

Tell me about your practice and what you're looking for in supervision.

What we can explore

Risk assessment and management

Thinking through risk with clients who self-injure, experience suicidal thoughts or high distress, including collaborative risk assessment and safety planning.

When therapy feels stuck

Exploring ruptures, impasses and the moments that feel hard, with curiosity rather than blame. Working with ambivalence, silence and the familiar shrug and I don't know, to validate where your client is and gently co-create momentum, without pushing or burning out.

Let's talk

DBT-informed practice

Bringing DBT skills, mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, acceptance, and interpersonal effectiveness into your work with clients from adolescence through to later adulthood.

Reflective practice and wellbeing

Space to reflect, sustain yourself and grow in confidence as a practitioner. Reflective practice and self-care are now part of the Psychology Board of Australia's professional competencies, and supervision offers both a restorative and a reflective space to build them.
